Meet Mrs. Scott
My name is Angela Scott and I am your child’s first grade teacher. I am pleased to introduce myself and welcome you to my class. First, I will share a little about myself. I moved here from Buffalo, NY. Now I live in Raleigh with my husband, son who will be 5 at the end of August ,and daughter who will be 2 in the middle of August! We have a painted turtle named Leroy who I found on the sidewalk while in college the size of a quarter and a dog named Lily we rescued here in Raleigh.
I attended University at Oswego where I obtained my degree in Elementary Education. Later I went to University at Buffalo where I earned my Masters Degree in Literacy and Early Childhood Education. I chose Literacy as my major because I believe that successful, well-rounded students must first acquire and master the skills and strategies necessary to read because reading is the basis for all school subjects.
Good learning experiences are built upon a cooperative effort between parents, children, & teachers. My standards for conduct & academic growth are high. With your participation in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a productive, creative, fun year together!
I am extremely proud to be part of this wonderful and new experience in your child’s life!

Meet Mrs. Ridgway
Originally from upstate New York, I have called Raleigh home since 1992. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I spent over 15 years working in various marketing communications roles for companies throughout Research Triangle Park. In 2010, my husband and I went to China to adopt our twin girls and after spending five years at home, I decided to embark on a different adventure and follow my passion for helping children learn and grow.
